okay i need help. im 13 and alllllllllllll my friends have myspaces and i want one soooooooooo bad!!!!but my mom wont let me! she lets me do tons of stuff other kids parents wont do but shes just so serious about this. shes just so hooked up on the concept of "its unsafe" "their are internet pretators."can u help me find a way to convience her that its safe enough.

Well, shes right about My Space. Its full of inappropriate spam and people asking to be your friend that you really don't want to be friends with. However, you should try signing up for Facebook. I have used myspace for almost a year now and nothing has gone wrong and I got it hwen I was 14. I did get preditors but if someone messages you can report and block them and if you report them their account gets suspended within 24 hours. The sickos who messages me within 7 hours I saw wehre they sent the messagte to me get changed to "this profile no longer exists"

My daughter has a myspace and I have the password I also watch everything she does on the Internet very closely! I log into her myspace and read all her messages....lol sometimes before she does. In the past, my boyfriend has cheated on me with his ex. I took him back cause everyone in my opinion deserves a second chance. lie in front of your face? A friend of mine recently got back together with her ex-boyfriend of 5 months over the fact that he told her that he was interested in another girl. As far as I know, you can't do that. MySpace and similar sites are made to be easy to use, at the cost of customizability. Which is why I use GeoCities for my personal website instead. :)

Bone Thugs .. uhmm .. no one is named Harmony .. originally it was Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Flesh n Bone, and for a short while Chrome Bone .. I have to laugh at your example of a myspacer. I guess it can be very true. There are those who are manic about it. And I do think it has it's definete downfalls as in young children there being exposed to inappropriate material. Having said that - I do have a myspace. But my reasoning is different. I live far away from many of my family and friends. Many of my friends live out of the country. We all got myspace sites to share photos, have a place to catch each other up on what's going on in our lives - that kind of thing. I get e-mail alerts when someone on my list comments or such - so I don't usually go check it unless I get an e-mail. Or if I am going to post something myself. Now, I would be a liar if I didn't add that I had alot of fun finding a background and adding things that weren't necessary. But I am far from an addict. I occasionally come across things that I add - but it is more to amuse my friends and family than so that they will think I am cool.

So, while I think that the site can be very damaging - especially to young kids - I also think that if young kids are on the internet, their parents should be supervising what sites they go to. Young kids should not surf alone. Even teen agers should have some limits as to the sites they can visit. And there are more than one ways to make sure that your child is not visiting sites that you don't want them to. So I don't think it is the downfall of the site that is to blame - but that of parents who are not watching where their kids are going. Just my opinion.

I'm in college, I originally got MySpace to stay connected to my friends during the summer months. I also commute but go to a University, so it helps me stay connected through friends and class mates. I use it to let them know what's going on in my life and just kill some extra time. I have pictures up but they are are very clean. Most of the time I talk about my fiance and acting responsibly. I have a lot of younger kids that are my friends on there because I have a younger brother. I try to set a good example for them. But it does worry me seeing these 14 year old kids on there, half naked, in sexually provocative positions talking about how many people they've slept with or who they've given oral sex to. I'm only 20, but when I was 14, holding hand an getting a peck on the lips was a huge deal, now it's only a big deal if you get pregnant. It does scare me, but you can't ban something just because some people abuse it or act stupid with it. That is why parents should monitor their kids more, yeah I know kids are more technologically advanced than their parents now-a-days, but there are ways to check up on them. And if you don't know how, then bruise your parently pride a little and get some help with it. It's only going to help your child in the long run.... they are getting pretty nasty on there.

I personally love MySpace. I'm a graphic/web designer so I use it to network and the pages are easily customizable so it's a inexpensive way to get my name and my work out there.

I love how people suddenly think that MySpace is evil and has corrupted our youth. Please. The Internet period has corrupted the youth. MySpace is not the only site out there that people can make a personal page on. There's LiveJournal, FaceBook, Hi5, Friendster, etc. Some people do take it too seriously staying on it all day, checking comments and notes 24/7, obsessing over how many people want to add them as a friend. i think myspace is good and bad. i have a myspace account only to talk to my friends and post silly comments on their pages and they post silly comments on my page i think it's fun. also some people i lost touch with years ago have found me on myspace and it's great to catch up with old friends. the only people that are my "friends" on myspace are people that i actually know plus like one or two of my favorite bands and it's great to receive upcoming tour date notices from my favorite bands. i also like myspace because i can post one bulletin about a party or whatever that all my friends can read instead of making 20 phone calls. i think myspace is bad because of the little 14 or 15 year old girls that dress like sluts and pretend they are 19 or 20. it only attracts sexual predators and it's their own damn fault. they should learn to act their own age. but overall i think myspace is good if you don't abuse it.

You'll have to find a pre-made layout that comes with that feature or find a code. Tom and the guys at myspace have not included the "hide your friends" feature on myspace (hopefully they do soon). I'm guessing you don't want a code so you don't have advertisements on your page... ???.... by deleting the "www.whatever.com.gif" but leaving everything else as is, you wont have those pesty boxes and links on your page.

If he is worth it, all you can do is trust him and realize that they were not right for him. You are. I know letting this stuff go is hard, trust me, I am dealing with that problem in my relationship, too. And it is awful. But it's kinda like this - what's your alternative? If he is a wonderful, loving man to you and he says they are part of the past, that is it. He didn't know you when he was with them, and if he had, well, who knows right? In general, no. Although a lot of mainstream music - like your examples - is really bad, a lot of it is really stellar too, if you look hard enough. Some club artists are really good (and often go on to be "big timers".) But online songwriters are often just idiots who found an easy way to publish their crap tunes. (Not all of them; some of them are good.)

if your worried about going to the counciller youself then you need to tell this situation to your parents and ask them to ring the school for you explaining how scared you are that you may end up being a target..

well, with image editor like photoshop or other, you would open image, make copy on second layer, use wand to select area of hair, use paint brush or bucket to recolor selection,

or on second layer just zoom in and paint over specified area, edit and erase edges, then save copy as jpg, if original image is gif, you may need to change to rgb from index, then edit, if you have no editor ant this time, try gimp with layers or photofiltre without,

6 months later my friend contacts him cause we are going to be in town auditioning for dance. he says of course lets hang out and invites us over. we spent time there and hung out but nothing happened between the two of us. we talked alone for about an hour and a half. he asked me if i was mad that he doesnt talk to me all the time, and i said no..its normal..we cant talk everyday. he told me to text him when i got back to the hotel, but within 10 minutes he texted me saying " thanks for coming, cant wait to see you again." we continued our convo and i eventually said goodnight have fun..and he said "all my fun left already"..then he commented me that night on myspace, and two nights later he texted me again..we talked for awhile and he asked me if i was mad that he had a gf for a month i said no..i just thought you forgot about me..and he said "nope" he explained how when i came to surprise him for a 10 minute visit it was like giving him a puppy and he was saying "can i keep it..is it mine?"..and then it got taken away from him. he told me it didnt matter what we did just as long as he got to see me. now its been about a week and we havent really been talking..i assume it might be because its hard to talk

wow, that was without a doubt the longest story ive ever read on yahoo answers lol.

But yeah he does. Its normal to not talk that much sometimes. Theres people that i talk to in person and i can sit and talk with them for hours, but on aim we say hi and thats the end of the conversation. Youre in a kind of weird situation where you see him sometimes and in the future you will see him more often, but it seems pretty obvious that he likes you.

As long as when you see him you have a healthy conversation and whatever else, you should be set. If you talk occasionally on aim or whatever then youll be set too. But what it really comes down to is that when you are with him, everything seems right.

Goodluck though... When you go to college im sure this will become a lot easier.
